Insurance

We have Anthem through my work.  We had Anthem through private insurance.  I am very angry with Anthem at this moment.  I think we pay enough (and have paid enough) for them to reimburse the children's hospital for our local area fairly.  We take Hunter to an affiliated pediatrician.  If on June 1 there is no agreement, he will not be able to go there (unless we pay out of pocket).  I already have his 12 month appointment set.  Ugh.  And I'm not exactly sure what they expect us to do if our child has an emergency... take them to one of the local ADULT hospitals?  So frustrating.

Anyways... my point is... if you have Anthem (and even if you don't and want to help make a difference) check out CHKD's website here and call the phone number and talk to Anthem.  I've already called to complain, but will be doing it again tomorrow, armed with more information.

Thanks!

Surprise! TLG Style

Remember how my awesome coworkers at TLG threw me a surprise baby shower for Hunter?  Well, Miss Rachael planned a big surprise bridal shower for Miss Sarah (we is getting married the day after my birthday, we are super excited for her!).  Rach did an awesome job and Sarah was surprised!  She brought beer to her own shower, haha.

Sarah got some good stuff and had help opening gifts from C.  I just loved her pink hat!

We played some games.  I must say, Rach, Ali, and I made a pretty nice toilet paper dress.  I think we could run a business.... Attention brides!  If your wedding dress FAILS on your wedding day there is no need to worry!  We will make you one out of toilet paper.  Only available in white.  haha

Sarah also had to get dressed, blindfolded, in clothes that weren't hers.  This was very entertaining.

*There is this huge space in the post (at least it is showing up in the preview), but there isn't a huge space in the editing part.  Not sure what is up with that.  My apologies if it posts like that.

Zoo!

We headed off to the zoo this morning right when it opened.  It was a beautiful day!  We know from experience the longer you wait to go to the zoo, the more crowded it gets.  And we ended up buying a membership.  We figured this will be our "Busch Gardens" for the summer (as Carl put it).

The tiger exhibit is finally open.  I don't have any pictures of the tigers because the guy with the telephoto license put my tiny camera to shame was in the way.  He actually was in the way of everyone, but I couldn't get any good pictures with my camera.

All animals are "dah" according to Hunter (translation-dog).  Although, he wasn't sure what to call the giraffes.

Here are the photos from the adventure... sorry if it is an overload.

This just reminded me of The Lion King

Odds and Ends

Last weekend Hunter and I headed to my sister's house while Carl golfed.  Hunter decided he was going to have separation anxiety while Uncle Jeremy and Cubbie held him.  This didn't go over very well with my dad.  Cubbie called Friday to see if Hunter was still mad at him, haha.  Aunt Nat and Aunt Mel were able to hold him with no problem.  He even snuggled with Ryleigh (for about 2 minutes).

The week between then and today was kind of a blur.  I had a workday on Wednesday, so I got 3 IEPs written and 2 of those meetings set.  I also went to my first (of many, I'm sure) Special Games on Friday.  The weather wasn't ideal, but at least it wasn't raining or super hot.  All our kiddos did great!

Hunter and I went out to lunch today with Ashley, Devyn, Miss Ella, and baby-in-the-belly Clara.  Ashley Someone said she was going to go home and post the pictures on her blog, but they aren't currently up yet.  Ella has gotten so big!  Hunter enjoyed flirting with the girls. We got to catch up on everything that has been going on in each others' lives.  We are all very excited to meet Clara... I just can't believe Devyn is already almost 30 weeks pregnant!  Remember when she was almost 40 weeks pregnant with Ella?!  She looks amazing like that again (I never thought it would be any different).  She is a very beautiful pregnant woman.

Carl, Hunter, and I went to dinner at Chili's tonight.  We haven't been out to dinner in a looong time.  We ordered Hunter some chicken fingers and cinnamon apples.  He really enjoyed his dinner.  He mainly people watched and got comfortable like he was at home (i.e., putting his foot up on the table).  We are very blessed with how well behaved Hunter is (for now).  I'm sure this isn't going to last, so we are going to enjoy it while it does!

First Hockey Game

We were those parents last night.  We took Hunter to the 7:15 Admirals hockey game (in our house, Hunter takes a bath by 7:30 and is down for the night around 8:00).  We weren't sure how he would be... would the noise keep him up?... would he be super cranky?.... would he just fall asleep on us?

Carl and I met Ashley, Chris, Mitch, and Callie (did I spell her name right?) at the game.  We were in the nose bleed section.  We were at the very top... it doesn't look so steep as you walk up the steps, but once you look down, you realize you are way up there.  I will admit that Ashley and I were both questioning if a hockey puck could still make its way up to the top.

Hunter really enjoyed the lights at the beginning of the game.  He was more interested in people watching (just like Mommy and Daddy) than actually watching the hockey players.  He did watch them for a little while.  He was very much about Daddy last night... but I did manage to snuggle him and so did Ashley.

And Hunter feel asleep on Carl, a little later than his normal bed time, but he did go to sleep.

Stick out your tongue...

and say, "Ahhhh!"

Recent Videos

Hunter randomly started clapping yesterday.  I guess it isn't so random, we clap every day at home, he sees the kids clapping at Mrs. Cathy's, and we clap all the time at The Little Gym. I can't wait to see if he will clap on Saturday at The Little Gym!

This is a game he loves to play.  I thought it was cute his face every time he would see lovey again.  Pardon the "man voice"... I'm getting over a cold.
