Hunter randomly started clapping yesterday.  I guess it isn't so random, we clap every day at home, he sees the kids clapping at Mrs. Cathy's, and we clap all the time at The Little Gym. I can't wait to see if he will clap on Saturday at The Little Gym!

This is a game he loves to play.  I thought it was cute his face every time he would see lovey again.  Pardon the "man voice"... I'm getting over a cold.

A Gift for Cubbie

Today is my dad's birthday (who the grandkids call Cubbie).  Luckily, I don't have to worry that he will see my blog before he receives this tomorrow (maybe one day he will learn how to navigate to my blog... although I am impressed with his internet skills).

His gift started at Mrs. Cathy's house.  She made this cute certificate with Hunter to give to Cubbie.

Since she gave it to me in a folder, I decided to let Hunter finger paint it.  I'm glad they make all the kid stuff non-toxic because Hunter decided to taste the paint.  Not just once, but 3 times (the look on his face after the first taste was priceless, I'm not exactly sure why he tried two more times).  Let me note, I did stop him the next two times before he could get his hand in his mouth (and I did pull his hand out of his mouth and wiped it as soon as I realized what he was doing).

He was very excited to start the project.

The finished product:

Hunter had a great time finger painting.  We will have to do this more.

Saturday Morning Fun

This is where we spend every Saturday morning from 8:30-9:15 (in the summer, we will be in the Friday 10:30 class).

It was Airtrak week, and Hunter loved it.

Did I mention the class is at 8:30?
Before Miss Sarah came around and did forward rolls...
 After...
The little girl behind Hunter?  He was eye-balling her the entire class

 I love his wide-open mouth!

 High-five!

Just some pictures

9 Month Appointment

Hunter had his 9 month appointment today.  He didn't have to have any shots and didn't have to have his finger poked today (they now do this at 12 months).  His pediatrician warned us that his 12 month appointment would include 3 vaccines and his finger poked.  Way to celebrate being here for a year!

He weighed 21 pounds, 3 ounces and was 29.3 inches long.  I didn't ask what his percentiles were, but in our little book from the office at home he is above the 75th percentile but below the 90th for height and is above the 50th but below the 75th for weight.  He is on a nice little curve.

Hunter left the doctor's office very happy (and excited about his new little book he received).  And he has been full of himself all day!  Doing his new "fake" laugh to make us laugh, letting go of whatever he is holding onto and standing for 15-20 seconds before he has to grab onto the item again.

This is how we found him this morning... much like my sister's daughter

I don't normally do this, but....

I am.  I wouldn't normally because 1) I've never really been interested in contests like this, and 2) we have our amazing photographer, Sarah.  With that being said, I'm doing this because we can win it for free, and who doesn't love free stuff?

So if you would please (if you have a Facebook):
-Go to Benibee's Facebook page
-"Like" her Facebook page
-Go into her Spring Photo Contest album
-"Like" Hunter's picture (it is the same one that is on the right hand side of my blog with his name).

Please and thank you!

9 months old

9 months?! Really?! Where has the time gone?

At 9 months:
-Wearing size 4 diapers and 12 month clothes. You fit in some 18 month onesies, but the pants are still a little too long (although some of the 12 month pants are becoming too snug, chunky monkey).
-Crawling!! Real crawling. This started about 5 days after you turned 8 months. But you are EVERYWHERE! If I turn my back even for a second you are gone! And you have a great compensation strategy for our hardwood floors when you're in pants. So clever.
-You are waving hi and bye at appropriate times, like.... when you see someone new, we get out of the car and are walking up to the house, you see Daddy is walking up to the door, we are leaving Miss Cathy's (you actually turn to your friends and wave to them), we are leaving the house and you are saying bye to Koal or Daddy, etc., etc.
-Giving high-fives to whoever will give you one. You especially like them when you're in the jumper or eating.
-Labeling. Calling me Mama (which you've been saying, but I wasn't sure you were labeling, but I definitely know you are labeling us now), Carl- Dada, Koal- Dah or Dahdah (you don't have the /g/ yet), and you are calling Fish something, but I'm not quite sure what it is (and then you growl at Fish after saying his name).
-Pulling up on everything. Not cruising too much, but moving some. If we spot you in your elbows or upper torso, you take steps. You have been doing well standing, unsupported for a good 5-10 seconds before you loose your balance.
-You do great at sitting up. Last month you were trying to figure out how to sit up, now you know how to get to sitting from whatever position you're in. It is just amazing what a month does!
-You have a knack for going after things you shouldn't play with... your fan, our shoes, the computer cord. I thought we had done a good job baby proofing, I guess we need to revisit this.
-You are an eating machine!  Not just baby food, but people food.  You had spaghetti at Aunt Kelly's for the first time this weekend.  Today you had half of a banana, some cucumber, some clementine oranges, Puffs, veggie sticks, some of my muffin, and 4 oz of milk (and then a little bit later 5 oz. of juice).  FATTY!

It isn't officially until tomorrow, but I will be playing in a faculty vs. 5th grade basketball game so I won't have time to be on the computer.

Friday we go for his 9 month check-up.  I will post his official height and weight.

Exploring and Dental Hygiene

Hunter is all over the place.  He still isn't as quick as his friends at The Little Gym, but he still ends up on the other side of the room if you turn your back for just a second.  He is excellent at doing trying to play with things he isn't suppose to and fit under things that a baby shouldn't go under (like his exersaucer).  He also loves to look out the front door with Koal (please excuse the dog nose prints all over the door).

This is Carl's toothbrush.  If Hunter even catches a small glimpse of Carl brushing his teeth he whines and tries to get to the toothbrush until Carl gives it to him.  He then enjoys laying on the bed chewing on it.  He isn't too happy about giving it back.

Can A girl take a good picture?!

Apparently not.  I would set him back in a sitting position, step back to take the picture, and these are the photos that I captured.  Gone are the days of him sitting still for a picture.

Blackberry Pictures

Just some pictures from my phone. Some have been posted on Facebook.
Waiting for Daddy to come home
Hunter no longer sits still for pictures in his rocking chair. I loved his little outfit, but he wouldn't let me get a good picture.
This was the best one I got... when I put him in the car from Mrs. Cathy's
Hunter is really exploring now. He gets stuck like this under his jumper. Do you think he has learned not to sit up after getting stuck 10 times? Nope.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather by digging in the dirt.
And he seems to think he can climb walls.

Twins?

I'll let you decide...

Recently

Hunter had his first trip to the zoo last weekend. Every animal on 4 legs was a "Daw"! (dog). He loved watching the animals, especially the giraffe (which he did not call a dog, apparently a dog cannot be that big!). Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures. I forgot my camera... FAIL.

I also got Hunter a fish, who we named Fish (clever, huh?). Fish is a bright red, Beta and lives in a decent size tank (you can divide it and have 2 Betas, but it doesn't seem like the fish would have enough room to swim). Hunter waves to Fish every time we walk in his room, he yells at Fish when he wakes up and sees him, and he loves to try to touch his tank (which I don't allow because I do not want him to tip over the tank or bang on the tank).

Hunter also recently got his first goose egg. I didn't see the tumble, but it didn't sound too bad. He was either in a sitting position or a crawling position and feel onto our hardwood floor. He cried, I comforted him. I put him back down and he continued to play. Later that night is when I noticed a red bump. Poor guy. First of many!
I tried to take the picture without the flash, a little grainy, but you can see the red bump over his left eye (it isn't black and blue like this picture makes it look)
He doesn't sit still to get a centered picture
