We went yesterday for Hunter's 2 month check up. Our appointment was about 2 weeks after he turned two months, but the doctors scheduled it on that day. We went to our pediatricians other office (it is brand new... really nice... it is a health care center so they also have ST, PT, and OT at this location). That office staff is not as nice as the office near our house, so hopefully I can get a later appointment for Hunter at that location for his 4 month check up.
He weighs 13 pounds, 7 ounces and is 25 1/4 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. His head circumference is 42 (I guess they take that in inches as well, lol). I have no idea what percentile he is in for his head, I didn't think to ask.
Poor guy had to get 1 oral vaccine (which he took like a champ) and 3 shots. I'm not sure who cried more, me or him. Luckily, two nurses came in and did two at the same time, and then one of them did the third one very quickly after. That was the first time he has had a painful scream and cry. It was heart breaking. And it should be against the law to make the mommies and daddies hold their arms down. Next time Carl is doing that! Hunter was all happy and smiling at the nurses when they came in, then looked at them all crazy when they rubbed the alcohol wipes on him, and then I think he hated them. I have no idea how they do that all the time.
We asked about the rash on his face and head (it's not bad, but it gets worse from time to time). The pediatrician told us he has a milk and soy protein allergy (or he may have said intolerance... I can't remember). So right now we can't say for sure he is lactose intolerant, but the pediatrician seems to think he should be fine on regular milk when he is one. Hopefully he will be able to handle milk like me and not be like his daddy.
The pediatrician says Hunter looks great and he has strong neck muscles. I have liked all of the pediatricians and the one nurse practitioner we have seen there. The first pediatrician we saw I liked, but I have liked this past one and the nurse practitioner more. Carl and I just need to decide who we want to say we prefer to see so that we can get to know someone really well. Anyways... here are some more pictures:
He loves looking at his feet. He gets mad if we cover them with a blanket. He will lean his body forward trying to find them. It is so funny.
He looks like a chunker here... what am I saying, he is a chunker, lol.
